You have two chances left in 2018 to dance with the Dogwood Squares, with Mike Bramlett calling Thursday, December 6 and Tim Tyl calling on Thursday, December 20th. Come and dance or just come watch, visit with our friendly square dancing family, and taste test some wonderful treats.
Yes, the Dogwood Squares know this dance is one day after Halloween, but they love having fun and don't want to miss a chance for everyone to be creative and wear their favorite costumes, so they're having an after Halloween Halloween Dance! You're invited to come join in the fun, and wear your favorite costume, if you want to show your creative side.
They're planning a Teen Scholarship Fundraiser package of items featuring pumpkin, pumpkin, and more pumpkin. Some special baked goodies are expected to be part of that prize package, so please check out the prize package and buy some tickets for that drawing. Someone will go home with the prize package, it might be your lucky day, and you'll be supporting the teen scholarship fund with your donation.
To make things even better, the Dogwoods are planning a buffet featuring hot dogs, chili, and fixings so you can make hot dogs your favorite way, or even feast on a frito pie made just the way you like it. As always, they'll have a table (or two) featuring tempting desserts, too, so come prepared to be tempted. We won't rat on you if you decide to have dessert : )
In case you checked your Green Book to see who's calling, the scheduled caller changed after the Green Book was printed, and Ronnie Himes is the scheduled caller for this one. Costumes are optional for our after Halloween Halloween dance, but please put the celebration on your schedule, wear something comfortable, and come join in the fun, even if you don't dance!
The Dogwood Squares have a special treat for everyone for their casual dance on Thursday, 10/18/18, with one of their own members calling for the dance. They invite you to come welcome new caller, John Turner, and show support for him, as he's starting his career as a caller. John has been working toward being a caller for about two years, and with more callers retiring than starting, we're thankful someone who lives in our area decided to start calling. Please come join in the fun and help us encourage John, as he calls for his home club.
Making the evening even better, you won't have to eat before you come. Members are planning a wonderful buffet featuring build-your-own taco salad and desserts, so there should be something most everyone can eat, while you're not dancing. Come join in the fun, build and eat a tasty taco salad, and help encourage a new caller in the area.
I plan to post a list here of all the square dance clubs represented at this dance, so come on out and join us. Be sure to list your home club when you sign in at the dance, then check back here later, to see which clubs were represented. It's a great chance for us all to support a new caller and show that our area square dancing community is truly a community of friends.

What better way to celebrate the holidays in a railroad town than by a "Polar Express" train ride themed square dance? To make it even more fun, guests are encouraged to wear pajamas, and picking out the right pajamas to wear to a holiday time square dance can add to the fun! Come join us and let your inner child have a blast!
Palestine Hot Pepper Festival:
Saturday, October 27, the Dogwood Squares will have an exhibition dance at the Hot Pepper Festival, in Palestine, with John Turner calling. Dancers from other area clubs are invited and encouraged to come dance with us and help us celebrate!
It's officially Fall, and the Dogwood Squares request the pleasure of your company to help them celebrate! They're planning their Fall Fest dance Thursday, October 4, with Dennis Ray calling. They'll have a tin can auction fundraiser plus a coffee themed Teen Scholarship fundraiser, so you'll have plenty of chances to win things to use yourself, or gifts for others. There are lots of reasons to go to this one where you can expect to find lively music, good calling, a buffet featuring brisket and more, and lots of prizes to win, too. If you square dance, please come dance, but if you don't dance it can be fun anyway, so please plan to come celebrate the beginning of Fall, and put it on your schedule!
For a special teen scholarship fundraiser, the Dogwood Squares are featuring a collection of items related to a specific theme, at their dances on the first Thursdays. One lucky person who donates for the teen scholarship fund at those dances will be awarded the prize package for that day. Here's a list of the themes for this fundraiser for the remainder of this year. We hope this'll make donating for the Teen Scholarship Fund a little more fun!

The Dogwood Squares are looking forward to KO Jeanes calling for their dance on Thursday, September 20th. Dancing starts at 7, and they're planning a buffet featuring sandwiches, side dishes, and tasty desserts. Casual attire is fine, but if you'd rather come in formal square dance attire that's fine, too. If you're a square dancer, we hope you'll come join us for the lively music and fun dancing, with lots of good fellowship, smiles and laughter, too. If you don't square dance, please come spend your evening with us anyway. It can be fun to watch the dancing, listen to the lively music, and enjoy the buffet and good fellowship, even if you don't dance, and you might even meet your next best friend at a square dance : )
This should be a lively and fun dance, with Nelda Eaton calling. Come join in the fun and dance, or just watch and enjoy the music, but come on out and join us for an evening of fun!
